For this technology session, the DEEP DIVE, we want to educate you on the use and the importance of ultra low latency. The online video industry focuses on a lot on specs. The one spec that we’re asked about the most is latency. The lower the latency, the better, right? Well, not necessarily. In this session we’ll explain what latency is low enough for the most common use cases, the importance of synchronicity versus latency, and pros and cons of various approaches. We’ll address pitfalls in areas like video quality, cost, scalability and global availability. You’ll learn when it’s better to use WebRTC, ULL CMAF or regular video distribution, backed by real live examples and use cases. This edition will be hosted by Jeroen Elfferich and will focus on the technology behind low latency. After this session, you can can yourself an expert on low latency video streaming and you will know what technology to use for what type of video distribution. Join us on the 16th of September from 11:00-11:30am CEST!
