eLuscious - De Wijnbeurs

De Wijnbeurs, one of eLuscious’ leading e-commerce brands in the Benelux, organized the National Wine Quiz livestream in November of 2021.  The livestream was presented by two well-known hosts (TV presenter, Astrid Joosten, and radio DJ, Sven Ornelis). The quiz pitted two in-studio teams against each other in the battle to win.

Before the big event, at-home participants were able to order their own wine tasting box that arrived with six (blinded) tubes. There were 2,300 people tuned in from home to watch the 1.5-hour show and interact in real time. While the in-studio teams navigated the quiz, the at-home audience was right in the action–they answered questions about the wines they were tasting and clicked their best guesses to wine-related quiz questions right alongside each other.

The livestream game show was powered by the Livery platform’s signature setup–a combination of Livery’s low-latency streaming capabilities with added interactive layers placed directly on top of the stream. De Wijnbeurs used the CORE and GAMIFICATION interactions to create the quiz and trivia questions, and the LEADERBOARD interaction to create some extra excitement–participants could see their rank in real-time and watch the ultimate prize winners rise to the top. De Wijnbeurs also used the COMMERCE interaction to allow participants to order additional wine during and after the show. This way the quiz was not only an event but also converted to new sales, and improved the tasting profiles of the customers to better target them with offers in the future.

Hobbii

Hobbii, the Danish one-stop-shop for yarn lovers, offers their community weekly free-to-play bingo games right within the Hobbii app. These livestreamed events drive engagement and give their most loyal customers access to exclusive ‘Super Deals.’ Each week, thousands of simultaneous players compete head-to-head for a chance to win branded prizes from the Hobbii store like yarn bags, wool or knitting needles.

Hobbii’s weekly bingo sessions are roughly 40-minutes of gameplay powered by Livery’s low-latency streaming platform. Each stream has a host on live video with an overlay that showcases the bingo cards. Livery keeps every player on the same frame at the same time ensuring a fun and fair game every time.

Ali Gala Alibaba’s 11.11 (Global Shopping Festival)

The Beer Games

The National Beer Games, a live beer tasting battle event between in-studio teams, pitted against each other to win with the at-home audience right in the action answering the same questions and tasting the same beers.

Before the big event, the at-home audience is able to order their own beer tasting box that arrives with six (blinded) beers. Dutch Dance Quiz

In cooperation with the creative agency, First Day of Spring, we streamed 3 episodes of the Dutch Dance Quiz–a video event that took viewers on a trip down memory lane through the rich 30 years of Dutch dance music. Viewers could tune into the quiz at either dutchdancequiz.nl or TV 538. 

During each episode, Martin Garrix, Joris Voorn, Chuckie, and Erick E popped questions to the viewers. A panel that included dance industry legends like Dano, The Darkraver, Roog, and Michel de Hey played on-set from the green room. As viewers tuned in to watch, they also got to test their dance knowledge by playing along from home in real time via an interactive 2nd screen (such as their mobile phone or tablet). Each participant got a chance to win exclusive Dutch Dance prizes.

Livery powered the video end-to-end using an on-site encoder and a web player on the DDQ website. As an added bonus, the event’s sponsors, Nationale Nederland and Philips won gold in the ‘specialized sponsor platform’ category at the annual SponsorRingen event for the project.

Q12 game show

Q12 Trivia was the first live interactive trivia game show designed for mobile-based participants in Spain. It pioneered a new genre of interactive mobile video quiz shows where viewers get to be active game show participants, which quickly drew large audiences worldwide.

The fast-paced 10-15 minute live quiz offered exciting prizes, creating the optimal vehicle to attract, entertain, and engage hundred thousands of people simultaneously in a playful, informative and entertaining game. 

The game mechanics were simple: answer 12 simple trivia questions correctly. Using a ‘last man standing’ principle, the format kept people coming back for more. Just one wrong answer and you’re out. In later releases, participants could buy or collect lives to stay in the game.

Players who made it to the end without a mistake split a cash prize between them.

Lift Kvis

Lift Kvis is a popular live game show app in the Eastern European market. Thousands of players tune into its four games per week to win cash prizes. Lift Kvis has chosen Livery as its partner to provide a secure and stable streaming solution. 

During the Lift Kvis live game show, the host asks a trivia question that viewers can answer in real time. Heineken e-Pub Quiz

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Heineken launched a campaign to support local Heineken-partnered bars through a virtual pub quiz.

The Heineken e-pub quiz had two 45-minute sessions. They focused the first session on the local Dutch market and tailored the second session toward international participants. World-renowned VIP celebrities collaborated on the virtual pub quiz, asking some of the trivia questions while joining via remote video from their respective locations.

One of the most engaging parts of the virtual pub quiz was the team play. Heineken had players join teams representing their local Heineken bar as a way of generating a sense of community. The pub quiz winners received bar credits to use with friends in a Heineken bar of their choice. After the event, Heineken matched the prize amount and transferred it directly to the winning team’s chosen venue.

Live Legends

Long-term Livery customer Live Legends participated in the Livery Interactive early access program. Based on their feedback, the Livery team created a stats API, exposing interaction data in real time. 

This live interaction data can be injected–in real time–into the virtual studio and rendered using the Unreal Engine. This integration creates opportunities to immediately use the data in conditional and creative ways, (for example, fireworks were triggered in the video feed when more than 100 viewers voted YES).

Horecava Live tasting event

In 2021, Horecava, (the largest Food & Beverage trade show in the Netherlands), launched online B2B Horecava Tastings. To participate, viewers ordered a tasting box in advance of the show that was delivered to their homes (which completely sold out in just one day!)

During the livestreamed event, a presenter guided participants through the product tasting and asked them questions about the products in real time. In the app, viewers answered questions, rated the products, and participated in a trivia quiz with prizes.

The data was stored and was available to use after the show had ended, to identify the most interesting business leads for the companies that supplied the products in the tasting box.

The event was exciting, engaging, profitable, and an incredible learning and data-gathering opportunity. This offers a great example of how you can go beyond a simple live stream to create an immersive experience.
